Grading and driveways

Grade decides how a property lives: where the water goes, whether the driveway washboards, whether the pad under your shop stays dry. We cut and shape ground so it holds through a wet Northwest winter.

Grading that moves water

Almost every grading problem is a water problem in disguise. When we grade a pad, a yard or a parking area, the surface gets shaped so runoff moves away from structures instead of pooling against them. Those grades are shot with a laser level, not eyeballed.

The photo on this page is what we aim for on every pad: smooth, track walked and ready for the next trade.

Driveways, new and regraded

A rural driveway is an earthwork before it is a surface. We cut new driveways to grade, crown or slope them so water sheds to the sides, and build the base up so the running surface lasts. An existing driveway that has gone to potholes and ruts usually needs a proper regrade and fresh material, not another load dumped in the low spots.

Building pads

Shops, garages, barns and homes all start with a pad cut to the right elevation and compacted so it stays there. We build pads to the levels your plans call for and leave them clean enough that the concrete crew has nothing to complain about.
